I will be smart on crime, promote equity and transparency within the County Attorney’s Office, and actively support evidence-based initiatives that make Lexington safer for everyone.

Prosecutors have more control over the criminal justice system than any other criminal justice official.  They essentially determine who enters the system and how roughly 90% of individuals will exit it.  Criminal justice has entered a new era that requires forward-thinking and innovative leadership.  Angela pledges to be smart on crime, promote equity and transparency within the County Attorney’s Office, and actively support evidence-based initiatives that make Lexington safer for everyone.

As an Assistant Attorney General, Angela prosecuted professionals who violated their clients’ trust and professional ethics rules, and individuals who compromised consumer safety by practicing without proper licensing.  As a public defender, she represented indigent adults and juveniles ensuring their constitutional rights were protected throughout the court process.  Throughout her career, Angela has recognized the flaws in our criminal justice system and their long-lasting impacts on victims, defendants and entire communities.  She is dedicated to finding better solutions to the inequities within the system for the benefit of crime victims, criminal defendants, and Fayette County as a whole, so we can truly provide dignity and justice for all.
